     You may wonder what jailbreaking is. Jailbreaking is allowing your iPod Touch to do things that normally Apple would not allow. Once you jailbreak, you can do a lot more things. I mean a lot! This includes downloading free apps! So if you want to know why you should jailbreak, go to the Why Jailbreak section.

Jailbreak iOS 6 with Evasi0n

iOS 6 jailbreak is out! The new tool Evasi0n allows you to jailbreak untethered on your devices, including the iPhone 5 and iPad mini! This jailbreak works with iOS 6.0 to 6.1.2. These are the devices that are compatible:
      - iPhone 5, 4S, 4, 3GS
      - iPad 2, 3 (new iPad), 4 (newest one with lightning port)
      - iPad mini
      - iPod touch 4, 5

Before you start
Back up your device to iTunes - if you mess up, you can restore back.
Turn off passcodes on your device
Close out of iTunes or Xcode if installed

1) Download Evasi0n for Windows, Mac or Linux
2) Open Evasi0n and connect your device to your computer
3) Once Evasi0n finds your device, click "Jailbreak"
4) Wait for the process to finish. Do not interrupt, go find something else to do. Then unlock your device. Tap on the icon that says "Jailbreak"
Your device will turn black for a moment and go back to home screen. On your computer, Evasi0n will tell you the jailbreak is complete. Congrats, you jailbroke your device!

Get Free Apps without Installous

As you guys may know, Installous has shut down. Now, what can we do to get free apps? There are 2 methods that I will discuss, using your computer, and using your device itself. Remember your device must be jailbroken. Your device also must have App Sync in order to sync the free apps over

1) Using your Computer
Okay, now if you want to get free apps, you can just download a cracked version on the web. I'm not giving exact websites, but you can perform a Google search for "the name of the app ipa" and find a website for the app you want. Once you've found the app, you can't just drag it in iTunes and sync it over, you have to use an alternative method.

1) Download iFunbox from the website
2) Connect your device to your computer and open iFunbox
3) Your device should be on the left pane. Click on "User Applications"
4) Click Install App at the top

Whited00r 6 - iOS 6 features for iPhone 2G/3G and iPod touch 1G/2G

A while back, I wrote about Whited00r 5, which was a custom firmware that gave iOS 5 features to your old devices. But now, there's a newer version of Whited00r- Whited00r 6. This new update has a lot of new features that I will talk about.

Now if you haven't read my previous post, Whited00r 6 is custom firmware made by developers and it has many iOS 6 features included. It is not exactly iOS 6, its is just a heavily modified version of iOS 3.1.3. You can install it directly through iTunes, by restoring to the Whited00r firmware. This is free and makes your old device faster and smoother. Now on to the new features.

iOS 6 look and feel: Whited00r 6 tries to make your device as look-alike as possible. Some look-alikes are the music app, which includes the silver of iOS 6, the new dial pad in the Phone app, iOS wallpapers, and more. The dock is reflective, there are icon shadows, and the status bar is translucent. Even with all these cool features, it doesn't make your device slower!

iSwipe - An Swype-like Keyboard for iDevices

Recently, I found a free tweak on Cydia called iSwipe. It's like the Swype keyboard on Android for your iDevice. If you don't know what a Swype keyboard is, it's basically a way to type words and sentences by using your finger to swipe the words on the keyboard. You just connect the letters to spell out the word. The tweak automatically puts the word in for you.

         

As you can see in the picture, I swipe over the letters I want to use and a blue line appears where I swiped. Then it automatically puts the word "hello" in. This also works with longer words such as "keyboard"

Also, if you swipe a word and it doesn't get it right, there are suggestions too. In the below picture I was trying to swipe the word "pencil" but it spelled "prechill" By tapping on the suggestion, it changes to "pencil"

      

With this alternative way of typing, it should be faster (theoretically) because you don't have to type in each letter. Now that you know what it does, here is how to get it on your iDevice.

1. Open Cydia
2. Go to Manage-Sources-Edit-Add
3. Add this source "http://repo.insanelyi.com/"
4. Go to Search and search "iSwipe"
5. Install, restart springboard, and get ready to use iSwipe.

iSwipe tips

• For double letters like in the word "Hello" do an extra swirl around the letter that needs to be doubled.
• For longer words (8 letters + ) swipe a little slower so that the tweak can calculate the letters you swiped. If you don't, then the word might not come out right.
• Sometimes drawing curved lines work better than drawing a straight line when the tweak is trying to calculate the letters.
